Displacement parts area: Artists in Bristol occupied a disused1960’s garage on Gloucester Road, opposing plans for housing development with alternative proposals for an arts centre and gallery spaces. An exhibition invited works in response to the building. A small subterranean room called ‘Displacement parts area’ evoked images and circumstances of waiting to be relocated and emplaced.
